The Manor Inn

This is our local pub and is situated on Higher Street. To get to it, go up Apters Hill just opposite the car park on Middle Street. It serves very good food and drink at reasonable prices. See its own web page for more details, the menu is very out of date, evening meals prepared by the chef John are excellent. The Manor Inn
The Blue Anchor
This is a small but popular and friendly pub on the edge of the harbour side, run by Denise and John. They also sell good food, the most popular being two steak meals for about £11. They have live music every Saturday night, with the excellent Southern Comfort every other week.
Bullers Arms
This pub is right on the front of the harbour, it caters for a much younger crowd. It used to have a reputation as a bit of a rough pub but the new owners have had a major refit and extension to the pub and got rid of the DJ's on a Friday and Saturday night. The best night now is Wednesday night with their new DJ. They have live music at the weekends but it is pretty poor.
Gardenia Coffee House
This little tea room is on Middle Street, just at the bottom of the hill going to the Manor Inn. I work here every evening during the summer. They sell good, cheap food. A roast dinner costs £3.25, curry and rice £3.25 and a cream tea is £2.50. They open from 10am until 8pm during the summer.
Vigilance (Wetherspoons)
This is like any other Wetherspoons pub. It has cheap food and very little atmosphere, however the food is actually good and the beer is about 20p cheaper than anywhere else. It is very good value for what you get. It's brilliant if you want to have a quiet(ish) chat, many of the locals go here.
